Bible Publishers Sued for Anti-Gay References
In the July 10, 2008 issue of Newsmax, writer Rick Pedraza reports that a 39 year old homosexual activist, Bradley LaShawn Fowler, of Michigan, has filed suits against both Zondervan Publishing and Thomas Nelson Publishing, for what he claims caused homosexuals to suffer from what he alleges was "misinterpretation of the Bible." Fowler is seeking $60 million from Zondervan and $10 million from Thomas Nelson.
Fowler claims the publishers' Bible revisions refer to homosexuals as "sinners" and reflects their opinions only. Pedraza writes, "Fowler says the deliberate changes made to first Corinthians, chapter six, verse nine, 'caused him or anyone who is a homosexual to endure verbal abuse, discrimination, episodes of hate, and physical violence...including murder.'"
