Laughing, my friend responded: "Well, at least by another man."
One Sunday, Susie and I were having lunch after church with a couple of great friends. I said to my friend, "Dean, I am wondering what it is that Susie sees in me that attracted her to me. Which do you think is most likely: my good looks or my money?"
He quickly replied, "Well, since I know you don't have any money, I'm as mystified as you are."
I do declare--with friends like that, one doesn't need any enemies.
I hasten to report that Susie and I have managed to survive the rocky road to romance. We are still celebrating our marriage, and we feel we are the two happiest people on planet Earth.
